Manny introduced with Damon as newest Rays

I find this to be an interesting move by TB.  I think they got great value in both of these players through their contacts and on the field.  The Rays lost a lot of players last year (Carl Crawford, Carlos Pena, Jason Bartlett, Rafael Soriano, etc) so they had to reload somehow to keep competitive in the AL East so I commend them for the move.  They always seem to have a solid contribution from their farm system too.  Expect them to be in the AL East race in Sept.      

I can’t get over how crazy MLB contracts are.  Manny made 20 million last year and now only makes 2 million this year.  Johnny Damon is making over 5 million in TB this year.  While Joey Votto was the NL MVP and he made $525,000 last year. Something is wrong here.   

This just highlights why the NFL is head and shoulders above the MLB.
